Chocolate Banana Porridge

Essential ingredients

100g quick-cook oats
200ml hot water
200-300ml milk
2 bananas
2 tbsp cacao or cocoa powder
1 tsp coconut oil
1 tbsp honey or syrup
To serve: chocolate, yogurt, warm berries, nut butter


  1. Mash one banana and slice the other in half lengthways and then into half again so you have four strips. Heat the coconut oil in a frying and add the banana strips. Cook over a high heat for a few minutes until golden, flip and cook on the second side. Pour over the syrup and stir until sticky.
  2. Meanwhile add the oats, hot water, milk, mashed banana and cacao/cocoa powder to a saucepan and heat over a medium heat until creamy.
  3. Serve the chocolate porridge in bowls topped with the caramelised banana and any other toppings.
