Plum & Ginger Porridge

A Simple Way To Eat Plant-Based

Essential Ingredients

85g brown sugar
1 orange, juiced
6 plums, de-stoned and quartered
90g oats
500ml milk (any kind you like)
1 tsp ground ginger
2 tbsp crystallised ginger, roughly chopped


  1. Begin by making the stewed plums. Combine the sugar, orange juice and 250ml of water in a saucepan. Bring the mixture to a simmer over a medium heat, then stir until the sugar has dissolved. Add the plums and stew for 15-18 minutes, or until they are soft but still keeping their shape.
  2. Once the plums are ready, combine the oats, milk and ground ginger in a small saucepan over medium heat. Bring to a simmer, then stir regularly until the porridge reaches your desired consistency.
  3. Pour the porridge out into a bowl and top with the stewed plums and crystallised ginger.
