Banana Bread Cinnamon Rolls

 
 

These simple, indulgent banana rolls are the perfect, warming treat. Flavourful and easy to make, they’re a must try during the winter months.

Ingredients


375 g Self-Rising Flour

300 g Mashed Bananas - about 3 large

75 ml Vegan Butter (Unsalted) - melted

Filling

3 tablespoons unsalted butter

80 g brown sugar

1 tablespoon Cinnamon

1 Banana - sliced


Method


1.

Preheat the oven to 180C. Line a 9-inch baking dish with parchment paper..

2.

Mash the banana with a fork into a smooth puree.

3.

Place the banana mixture in a large mixing bowl with melted plant-based butter and self-rising flour.

4.

Stir with a rubber spatula, and when it starts to look crumbly, lightly oil your hands and knead to form a dough ball.

5.

Lightly flour a work surface and place the dough on it. Sprinkle extra flour on top of the dough and roll into a 12.5-inch x 10.5-inch rectangle shape.

6.

Spread the softened butter evenly onto the rectangle.

7.

In a small bowl, whisk cinnamon and sugar. Sprinkle the mixture and press it evenly onto the dough.

8.

Add slices of banana in rows.

9.

Roll starting from the longest side until it forms a cylinder and cut in rolls. Or alternatively slice in strips and roll each strips to create a roll.

10.

Place each roll with the swirl facing up on the prepared baking dish.

11.

Bake the rolls for 25-30 minutes until golden.

12.

When cooled Down, glaze using 1/2 cup of powdered sugar with 1-2 tablespoons of almond milk.
