Chocolate & Cherry Oat Cake

 
 

We’ve seen so many baked oats variations, and these may be our most indulgent yet! These baked oats are packed full of nutrients & beneficial compounds that are sure to satisfy & nourish.

Ingredients


100g apple sauce, unsweetened

12-15 cherries (pitted, fresh or frozen)

180g oats

35g whole meal flour

30g cocoa powder

1 tsp baking powder

1-2 tbsp honey/maple

2 tbsp flax seeds meal

375mL milk of choice

Greek yoghurt for topping

Cacao powder or grated chocolate to dust

Extra Cherries as topping


Method


1.

Preheat oven to 180 degrees

In a greased oven safe container/baking tray, combine the apple sauce, cherries oats, flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, honey/maple, flax seeds meal, and milk. 3.

Mix until well combined.

4.

Place in the oven and cook for about ~35-40 minutes, or until golden and firm to touch.

5.

Allow oats to cool completely in the container/ tray, and then loosen the edges with a knife.

6.

Spread Greek yoghurt evenly on top.

7.

Sprinkle with grated chocolate and top with extra cherries.
